A portion of LIBA membership fees goes to LIBA PAC. Even if LIBA grants exemptions to this for utilities (we don’t know whether they do or not), the membership is still supporting the running of the organization and making it look normal. Meanwhile, LIBA and its PAC are funding hate candidates and fighting a living wage. In 2018 the PAC gave direct contributions to these candidates:
